About the Owners

Kobe Winchester is fourteen years young and is an awesome golden retriever and greeter.
Kent Winchester attended the Universities of Hawaii and Oregon, earning his undergraduate degree in Political Science. Following a Peace Corps stint in West Africa, Kent completed a Masters degree in Education from Gallaudet University. He then went on to work Rochester Institute of Technology and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf; specializing in career counseling, teambuilding, and multicultural education. Kent founded the RIT Red Barn Leadership Training Program and was a mentor to more than 25 world-wide Outward Bound Interns. After teaching and encouraging students and staff "to take risks,” he realized he needed to follow that advice and a long-time dream. Leaving his tenured, senior professor position, Kent opened RockVentures in 1995. He has hosted the American Mountain Guide Association, Fortune 500 Companies, and others over the past ten years. Kent is a certified OutComm(r) Facilitator, which uses a visual mapping system to assist groups to achieve consensus on Mission and Vision Statements, and other Strategic Objectives. Kent and his partner, Ginny, have recently built a cabin up in the Town of Wanakena.... the more remote part of the Adirondack State Park.
Shared Adventures Travel Agency is owned by Kent as well. We feature adventure and family travel. Many trips are in the Rochester Area, Finger Lakes and the Adirondacks. We also plan Disney vacations, cruises and anything else....here, there and anywhere.
